TIPS TO USE YOUR HVAC UNIT TO ALLEVIATE ALLERGIES

Admin • May 09, 2017

Remove Debris around the outdoor and indoor HVAC units

Your outdoor AC unit pulls air from outside through your HVAC system that eventually circulates through your home. If dust and debris gather around the indoor units they will also circulate through your home.

Purchase High Quality Filters

A dirty filter will not trap debris. It will also make your units less effective. Less expensive filters are meant to protect the equipment, they do little to trap the microscopic particles that cause the sneezing and wheezing of allergy season.

Make sure your registers and return vents are dust free

Wipe these down using a damp or treated rag to prevent kicking the particles back up.

Schedule Seasonal HVAC Maintenance Appointments

Spring and Fall are the best times to check all your systems. This is when they are getting the least amount of use. Contact the experts at Beyer Heating & Cooling to see what maintenance plan is best for your HVAC system.

Adjust your indoor humidity levels

If spores or mold cause your allergies adjust your indoor humidity to below 60%.

Use your HVAC system often

Using your system regularly filters out dust and kills mold growth.
